Heat Pump Installation · Vaughan
Sized for the cooling load, rated for the Ontario cold
Heat pump installation in Vaughan is a different job from the rest of the GTA. Custom homes in Kleinburg and Maple have tall foyers, walls of glass and square footage that one 3-ton unit can't touch. We design high-capacity ducted systems, two-system layouts and multi-zone ductless for these houses, and we install the same cold-climate equipment for shops and offices in Concord. Every quote is written, guaranteed and backed by 20 years of Ontario installs.

Large houses and commercial units raise problems a bungalow never sees. Here's how we handle each one.
Often not on its own. Past 5 tons we split the load: two ducted heat pumps, one per floor, or one ducted system plus ductless heads for the great room and the far bedrooms. The heat-gain calculation decides, not the square footage.
South and west glass can add a ton of cooling load by itself. We count every window in the calculation and often serve that room with its own high-wall ductless head so the rest of the house isn't oversized to cover it.
Two cold-climate heat pumps paired with your two furnaces as hybrid systems is a clean swap. Each floor keeps its own thermostat, each heat pump carries most of the heating, and both furnaces stay as backup for January.
A multi-zone ductless system heats and cools up to five rooms from one outdoor unit. Each head has its own remote, so the suite can run at a different temperature from the main house.
We pair a Midea EVOX G3 with a Midea electric air handler that has auxiliary heat strips. The heat pump does the work down to -30°C and the strips cover defrost and the few nights beyond it. We check the panel first, since a large all-electric home may need 200-amp service.
Multi-zone ductless and ducted heat pumps suit retail units and offices well. We look at your hours, the door traffic and the glass, then size for the busiest afternoon. Install can be booked around your opening hours.
We plan every line set route before install day, run lines inside walls or chases where we can, and use paintable covers where we can't. Outdoor units go on the side yard or behind landscaping where the lot allows.
The Home Renovation Savings Program bases the amount on heat pump size, up to $7,500 for homes heated by electricity, oil or propane and commonly up to $2,000 for Enbridge gas-heated homes. We confirm eligibility and file the pre-approval before installation.
Describe the problem and we'll tell you what it usually is, what it costs to fix, and whether it's worth fixing.
Cold-climate heat pumps start from $5,500 installed. Big homes that need two systems, a 5-ton unit or several ductless heads land higher, and the quote spells out every piece before you sign.

More glass and more square footage mean more planning. Here's how it goes.
We walk the house or the unit with you, measure the glass, note ceiling heights, check the panel and find the best spots for outdoor units and line sets.
A Manual J heat-gain and heat-loss calculation tells us whether it's one system, two, or ducted plus ductless. In Vaughan the cooling number usually sets the size.
Model numbers, tonnage, zone layout and the rebate estimate in writing. We submit the pre-approval before any install date is booked.
Licensed refrigeration techs charge each circuit by weight, ESA-licensed electricians wire each unit, and we commission every zone, set up the controls and register the warranty.
Ducted units up to 5 tons for the main system, multi-zone ductless for the rooms the ducts can't reach, all rated to -30°C.

Big systems come with a long list, and all of it is inside the quoted price.

In most Ontario homes the heating load is bigger than the cooling load, so a heat pump sized for winter has summer covered. Large Vaughan homes flip that. A great room with 20 feet of glass facing west gains more heat on a July afternoon than it loses on a January night, because the sun is doing the work and the house is well insulated. Size for winter and the air conditioning falls behind every heat wave.
So we size for the bigger of the two numbers and check the other. That takes a real room-by-room calculation with window areas, orientation, ceiling heights and the attic. The answer is rarely one giant unit. Past 5 tons, a single ducted system means long duct runs that lose pressure before they reach the far wing. Two systems, or one ducted heat pump plus ductless heads where the glass is, give each part of the house its own capacity and its own control.
Inverter equipment makes this work well. A 5-ton Midea EVOX G3 doesn't run at 5 tons all day; it throttles down to match the load, so it holds temperature on a mild day without short cycling and still has the capacity for the hottest afternoon of the summer. The same logic applies in a Concord office, where the lunch-hour sun through the storefront glass is the design condition.

We had a heat pump/AC unit installed by EHI, on time, on budget, great workmanship. Julian and team were knowledgeable and courteous. Dustin communicated well and is managing our government rebate for the new efficient system. Thank you Team!
Replaces our AC with a new heat pump in Ottawa and the whole experience was outstanding. From the first call, Dustin was incredibly responsive and communicated clearly every step of the way. He cut through all the usual sales fluff and got straight to what mattered — options, costs, timelines, and what made the most sense for our home. They addressed every concern I had, explained the details discussed my technical questions, and handled the installation quickly and professionally. The quality of the work is excellent, everything was done cleanly, and the system has been running perfectly since. Pricing was fair and transparent, and there were no surprises. It’s rare to find a company that combines speed, honesty, and solid workmanship like this. Highly recommended.
Recently got a shiny new heat pump installed. Went very well, nice unit and it works soooo quietly. These fine folks were very easy to deal with, professional and thourough. Would highly recommend.
Efficient Home Improvements truly went above and beyond. Our furnace failed on Christmas Eve in Ottawa, and their team stayed up late (3:00am) that night to replace it. Their responsiveness, professionalism, and dedication during the holidays were exceptional. The work was completed efficiently, and everything was explained clearly. It’s rare to find a company willing to sacrifice their own holiday time to ensure a customer’s home is warm and safe. I highly recommend Efficient Home improvements to anyone in need of reliable and compassionate service.
I recently had a new furnace and tankless water heater installed by this company. Excellent service by both office and technicians , I highly recommend!

Had a tankless water heater installed and couldn’t be happier. The installation was quick, professional, and the system works great — endless hot water and more efficient than my old tank. Highly recommend!
Dustin and his team were really responsive and helpful in getting us a new heat pump to replace our broken AC unit. The team went above and beyond helping us through the process and answering other questions about the house we recently moved in to. I would highly recommend Efficient Home Improvements for any of your HVAC needs.

A cold-climate heat pump starts from $5,500 installed. Installed pricing depends on size and installation requirements, and a large Vaughan home that needs two systems or several ductless heads will be quoted higher. Every quote is written and guaranteed before you book.
It depends on the room-by-room load calculation, not the square footage alone. Big homes with lots of glass often need a 4 or 5-ton ducted unit, and the largest homes do better with two systems or one ducted system plus multi-zone ductless for the great room and far bedrooms.
Yes, when the glass is counted in the heat-gain calculation and the room gets enough capacity. We often serve a great room with its own ductless head so the main system isn't oversized for the rest of the house.
Yes. We install ducted and multi-zone ductless heat pumps for showrooms, offices and small retail units in Concord and across Vaughan, sized for your glass, door traffic and hours, and we can schedule the install around your opening times.
A single ducted system is usually done in one working day. Two systems or a multi-zone ductless install with several heads can take two or three days. We confirm the schedule when you book and don't promise an arrival time we can't control.
Under the Home Renovation Savings Program, homes heated by electricity, oil, propane or wood can get up to $7,500 based on heat pump size, and Enbridge gas-heated homes commonly get up to $2,000. The model must be on NRCan's qualified list and pre-approval must be in place before installation. Program terms can change, so we confirm eligibility first and file the paperwork.
